Hi, I got the following note from prism. I ssh to io.com and then use
pine. I sometimes use the webmail.io.com (Squirrelmail) web browser
interface, but pine is my preference. Does anyone know what, if anything,
I'd have to change to enable their change?

Subject: PrismNet Update: Changes to the incoming email server.

Dear Customer,

To further increase our mail capacity we will be separating
our webmail server from our pop3/imap server.

If you have the server name "webmail.io.com" set as your incoming mail
server you will need to change this to "mail.io.com" as of May the
9th.

If you run into any problems with this change or if you need further
assistance please contact us at 512-821-2991 or email us at
***@prismnet.com.
-------------------------------

Enjoy,

Selki

You do not have to do anything to use pine from the shell at
io.com. You should already see that you are logging into
mail.io.com when you start pine from your shell account.

If you use an email client on your own machine that uses
pop3 or imap, you have to change the configuration to obtain
mail from mail.io.com instead of webmail.io.com - and this
includes mail clients that are sometimes bundled with web
browsers (most of these use pop3, and if you look at the
setup, there will be a text box for your pop3 server and
another one for your smtp server).

Double-checked: that IS what I see, and also I grepped and found
.login:setenv MAIL "{mail.io.com}"
.profile:MAIL="{mail.io.com}"

So I think I'm all set for ssh/pine.

I don't guess I'm using pop3 or imap. I should have separated my mention
of browser/Squirrelmail from my question about ssh/pine -- I'm talking
about in any generic browser (e.g., Firefox, at the library or a friend's,
not just on my computer) putting http://webmail.io.com. I see that trying
http://mail.io.com redirects me to https://webmail.io.com/src/login.php,
so I guess I'll probably be good either way once they change over.

Thanks!

Maybe most people don't, but I had to change my inbox-path. From the
first screen, that's `S' (for Setup), then `C' (for Config), then down
to inbox-path and change the value. I suppose I customized this value
at some time in the past and the then-current system-wide default
value got frozen in my config file.
